Spring Equinox, Solar Eclipse and Supermoon: A Celestial Trio

Spring Equinox, Solar Eclipse and Supermoon: A Celestial Trio

Friday the 20th March 2015 is a very special and unusual date, bringing together a trio of celestial events: the Spring Equinox, the Solar Eclipse and a Supermoon. For astrologers and other observers, it is a very exciting day!

Of the three events, the Supermoon is actually the most common; this year will see six supermoons in total. This occurs whenever the moon is at its perigee (the point of its orbit closest to earth) when it is new or full. Although it is a new moon – meaning that it won’t be visible in the sky – the fact that it is closer to the earth than usual means that it will have a stronger than normal effect.

When this supermoon swings into place between the Earth and the Sun, it will cause a solar eclipse. This is the first time since 1999 that such an event has been observable from the UK, although the mainland will not be able to see it in its totality. In the far south of England, observers will see approximately 85% of the sun covered, whereas watchers in the Shetland Islands will see as much as 95%. Please note that you should never look directly at the sun, even during an eclipse; special eclipse viewers will offer enough protection to look at it safely, or you can use a pinhole camera to observe it indirectly.

The spring equinox, as we have discussed before, is a time of great significance, as it is the point at which the days and nights become equal, and ahead of us we see the days getting longer as they stretch into summer. It’s a time of growth and new beginnings – so what added effect will the supermoon and the solar eclipse bring?

Well, it may be a profound one. The moon and the sun are often perceived as being opposite influences; the moon feminine, passive and emotional, and the sun masculine, active and aggressive. These two effects combined can create an exceptionally strong effect.

In addition, all of these phenomena are associated with change; the spring equinox marks not only the balancing point between spring and winter, but also the transition of astrological energies from Pisces to Aries. The new moon has always been a time for beginnings, and as mentioned earlier its proximity to Earth will reinforce this effect. Finally, the solar eclipse is a dramatic breaking of patterns, and thus is a great stimulus for change.

If you are ready for a change, then this is the perfect time to put it into action, with all this psychic and celestial energy pushing you to succeed. However, if you are unprepared, you may find that these effects leave you feeling restless, rushed and pushed into decisions that you may later regret.

My team and I will, as always, be ready and available to offer guidance in this time, to help support you through this transition. If you are in need of psychic readings, call me or a member of my team to get a reading now.
